Pacific Southwest Symposium (PSWS)
The Pacific Southwest Symposium (PSWS) is a major event in our ASCE calendar, taking place every spring. It’s a grand gathering of universities from the Southwest region, all participating in a three-day extravaganza of competitions, social activities, and a grand awards banquet!
The spotlight is on the competitions, where our teams for Concrete Canoe, Design-Build, Steel Bridge, Environmental Design, GeoWall, and Surveying put their year-long efforts to the test. These three days are intense, but they’re also packed with enjoyable activities like Jeopardy, basketball, ultimate frisbee, tug of war, scavenger hunt, talent show, and KanJam! The event also features a career fair and an awards banquet, which is usually filled with cheers and celebrations.
Keep an eye out for more updates! To be a part of PSWS as a Cal Poly student, you must first be a member of our ASCE student chapter. Additionally, you must sign up for the free national membership through the national ASCE organization. This makes you eligible for full participation in the conference and gives you access to numerous ASCE scholarships and publications.
